Question by slpkntheretic666: Is it possible that minorities are discriminated against because of their actions and ways of thinking?
For example, people are racist towards blacks because they think they will steal, not because of their color.

Another example, muslims. Muslims are very discriminated because a lot of them are terrorists.

So is it possible that some minorities are discriminated against because of their actions and ways of thinking and not because of color?

Because like me, I base how I see a race depending on their actions and not because of skin color.

I don’t care about skin color. I care about what the culture of that race makes them think.

How about people discriminating white southerners because they have sex with cousins?
See, the moment you start something along these lines, you end up with prejudice.
Noone disputes that some black people will steal, but some white people will steal too. So, being afraid when a black person approaches you on the street, tells more about your prejudice than about his actions.

No, third grade must be hard for you.

  2. Johnny on the Spot says:

Yes, like some cultures seem to put very little value on a proper education.

  3. dylanfox says:

maybe, but, is it possible that minorities actions and way of thinking is caused by discrimination!

  4. Coultergeist says:

You got it all wrong there Spanky, if you have a problem with people, that’s your problem, not theirs.

  5. oohhbother says:

Applying attributes of individuals to an overall racial group is the very definition of racism which leads to discrimination.

which you were so kind to illustrate right here: “people are racist towards blacks because they think they will steal, not because of their color.”

  6. Phoenix says:

Many people have self defeating activities in their culture.

It does not require discrimination to be a fool.

It is not restricted to any particular group.

  7. grade school says:

    there is racial discrimination.

Our government babies minorities, and gives them more rights, and allows them to get away with more. It’s easy for minorities to pull the race card these days, so when people know they CAN get away with something, they do it. If they are a total idiot and drugies, and cant get a job, they claim it’s because it’s their race, instead of acknowledging it is because of their character.

  9. Non-trinitarian Christian says:

Wow and conservatives claim that they aren’t racist.

  10. Taffy says:

Duh, that goes without saying! People are pre-judiced against people who don’t act, think, believe what they do. I am not talking about color. I could care less about color, but everyone wants people like themselves to be friendly with. Common Sense, don’t cha think?

Supposedly it is “racial” or “stero-typing” by saying Africian American’s steal! But, on the other hand, stastics prove they have higher theft rates in heavily populated African American’s neighborhoods, so ? I don’t necessarily think it is because of “color” as much as it is poverty. Blacks, would claim they haven’t been given the same chances as whites, but I disagree. I have known highly successful people of all colors, and I have known poor, criminals of every color. It is true stastically also that black men hardly ever stay with the mother’s of their kids, is that racist? It is a fact. I am sorry they don’t have more positive role models. I mean look at Jessie Jackson, and even all time clean cut Bill Cosby, fatherring babies out of wedlock. Good thing we have Obama, so he can hopefully be a good role model for Africian Americans. I also aspire to have people of high moral CHARACTER as friends, acquaitances. I don’t care what color they are. If that is considered being a “snob” than so be it. I don’t like Charles Manson, is that being racist? I think a lot of black people play the race card way too much.

I think you are definitely “onto something”!! If one reads the definition of the word “discrimination”, it becomes apparent there are 2 basic, yet conflicting, values describing the word. The one is generally considered to be a negative while the other is usually looked upon as a positive. For people to be discriminating in their tastes in food, housing, plays, etc., is a good thing. But when people discriminate against a group because of one person’s actions, that is not so great.

Remember when you were in grade school and there was one kid who was always disruptive?? One day the teacher decided since the one kid of was a brat, none of the class could go on a planned field trip. THAT is discrimination against the whole class because of one person’s decision not to abide by the rules, as the other kids in the class had been doing.

Instead of punishing the one child for his/her poor decisions and rude behaviors, the teacher took her/his frustrations out on all of the kids.

NOT FAIR. Normal people are aware that one person does not necessarily represent all those from his group .. whether that group is of a certain religion or ethic background or citizen of another country or age, etc.. However, if the majority of that particular group is incline to be rowdy or harmful, others not from that group will deduce that most – if not all – members of the particular group are equally as hurtful and will not want to be around them or have them in their vicinity for fear of being harmed. THAT MAKES TOTAL SENSE and it is a NATURAL reaction. What is not natural is to force a “mouse” or some other prey-type creature to live in a room with a “cat” or some type of predator that does not like mice and will do whatever they know to destroy the mouse. That is inhumane.

When people who are supposed to be looking out for the best interests of their country are actually driven by self-interests or ulterior, covert motives, a good way to keep the citizens of the country from uniting is to enforce irrational rules upon those citizens .. “political correctness” is an example of a rule that helps keep the citizens separated by providing unfair privileges to only a portion of the citizens BECAUSE of their ethic backgrounds .. be they of Europeon, African, Asian, Latino, or whatever descent or by excluding others who merely do not think the same way as they do. You already seem to have figured that out!! Maybe YOU can one day obtain a position where you can actually help the country and its citizen who may need to depend on you.
